Homemade Bread (Bukë Shtëpie)

Ingredients

  • 8 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp yeast
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 tbsp oil

Preparation

In a large bowl mix flour, yeast, salt and sugar. Pour water slowly while you mix all ingredients together until is formed a soft dough. The dough should not be sticking on your fingers.

Cover the bowl for the dough to rise for two hours in a worm place. In a table powdered with flour place the dough and shape in a long rectangle. Cut it in small parts and form small rolls. Place all formed rolls in a baking pan 20 inch or use the oven pan. Let it sit for 30 more minutes so that the rolls rise a little more. Before you baking, brush rises dough with water. Bake in a preheated oven 425 Fahrenheit or 250 Celsius for 35-45 minutes until golden brown. Take it out and let it rest to cool down.
